The rarest Black Robin

One stormy day on Mangere Island there were only five black robins in the world. There was a man named Don Merton who thinks of animal that live in his own country and tries to save them. He is a caring person that cares about animals like the Black Robin that were close to getting extinct not so long ago. When I read this story named Old Blue it made me care about the Black Robin. The black robin is chubby and real small. The black robin has black feathers. It has a short tail. The black robin is so cute like a baby that was just born. The black robin is 18 cm and it is real fluffy. And there are 250 black robins in NZ now but it is still in danger.

Black robin

Down on the Chatham Islands, there were some Black Robins.  But then some predators killed the black robins! There were only 5 Black Robins left on the island! But one day a scientist came to save the New Zealand Black Robins. Now there are over 225 Black Robins on the island. Black robins are native birds. The black robin has black feathers with a sharp beak and is cute looking. It is chubby and scruffy looking and it can fly and hop. The black robin is tiny, cute, with sharp claws. The name of the most famous one is Old Blue. It is also short fluffy and and hops. The Black Robin is native, flies, and is scruffy. Black Robins we're saved by Doctor Don Merton.

Save our Black Robins!

Do you know anything about the Black Robins?   Now, if you don't here's a really good fact - they are an endemic bird and that means that they came here even before people came to New Zealand. Once there were only 5 Black Robins in the entire universe! They were the rarest bird in the world, now there are 250 black robins. Black robins are as chubby as a new baby. They love to eat grubs, wetas and other insects. It's beak is pushed in and it's really feathery and also fluffy. It's serious and furious black eyes are as scary as pests. It's claws are as sharp as T- rex's teeth. It used to live in Little Mangere island and now it lives in Mangere Island where all the Black Robins are safe and sound.
We should save our beautiful bird called the Black Robin.

Describing the Black Robin

Black robins are really black. They have black feathers and black legs. The black robin is nearly as small as a sparrow and they can fly. These black robins are popular because a long, long time ago there were lots of black robins. But then there were only five left. A scientist named Don Merton came and helped the black robins. He was a very good man. These black robins are really hoppy like a kangaroo. The black robins lay eggs. They eat grubs and wetas which are insects. The black robins are uncommon. Black robins are endemic birds which means they we're living here before people. There are now lots of black robins on Chatham Island. But we still need to protect them.
