Legend of the Kea

In one great magnificent forest lived birds of all kinds, they had beautiful colours and melodies. The birds lived in peace and harmony and all the birds had the same features. In that beautiful forest it was always summer and daylight. They ate luscious berries and gobbled up juicy insects. Moas and wekas used to play and  have fun also Krikta the Kea and his friends were always playing practical jokes on others. There were even parrots coloured like the rainbow.

 

Then  came the time of quarrelling when birds turned furiously against each other. Grey Warbler was the greediest bird of all and the seagulls stole berries from other birds beaks and they were savage. Then came Ka the greatest bird of all and he made the land dark and stormy for the first time in forever.

 

Ka started to punish all the birds one by one, he gave them jobs, perches, and features. But suddenly Krikta the Kea stole a beautiful birdsong, claws, beaks and features. Meanwhile when Krikta the Kea was singing to his darling Starwing, Ka saw him and he was angry. Just then Ka was about to go when Krikta asked him about the Kea's perches, jobs and features and Ka said
"you are brave enough, you have got the most beautiful claws and beaks!" Krikta and the other Keas were banished to live in the harsh snowy mountains forever.

Save our Black Robins!

Do you know anything about the Black Robins?   Now, if you don't here's a really good fact - they are an endemic bird and that means that they came here even before people came to New Zealand. Once there were only 5 Black Robins in the entire universe! They were the rarest bird in the world, now there are 250 black robins. Black robins are as chubby as a new baby. They love to eat grubs, wetas and other insects. It's beak is pushed in and it's really feathery and also fluffy. It's serious and furious black eyes are as scary as pests. It's claws are as sharp as T- rex's teeth. It used to live in Little Mangere island and now it lives in Mangere Island where all the Black Robins are safe and sound.  

We should save our beautiful bird called the Black Robin.

 

LIGHTENING THE ELEPHANT

One beautiful day I woke and it was my birthday, I turned 11. Also today was my nectar ceremony and my mom and dad really wanted me to summon an elephant with bright purple eyes. Then I went to my nectar ceremony and I had a sip of the nectar and it tasted like milkshakes - delicious and hot. Suddenly  there was a tingling feeling on my skin. Then the audience started to cheer (cheering noise) and the sky was as bright as the sun, then a brilliant flash of lightening came, then the sound and feel of the ground shaking. The crowd was like (OMG) then I saw I had summoned a magnificent yellow elephant with bright purple eyes. Strangely, at the weekend,  I ate some gum and in the gum was a tattoo of a bright yellow elephant with bright purple eyes. Suddenly I just started to communicate with the elephant in my mind.

I wonder how the iPad can help me learn about using the cloud-Dropbox and creating art work.
