What Tree Should Be Planted On One Tree Hill?

I believe that we should plant a pohutakawa tree on One Tree Hill.

I feel that we should plant a pohutakawa tree because it can last for 1000 years so it will be there for ages.

I am certain that a pohutakawa tree is a symbol of NZ , it is like our Christmas Tree and we will be able to see it and celebrate it at Christmas.

Therefore I think that we should plant a pohutakawa tree because it  is a very strong tree and it is very windy on One Tree Hill , that means it will be most likely to survive the weather.

As you can see we should plant a pohutakawa tree on One Tree Hill. 

The Legend Of The Kea

Long ago when the world was covered in trees, it was peaceful. There were birds that had the same features, and it was always summer and day time. All birds were helping and sharing but Krikta the kea was cheeky and mischievous, he played jokes on other birds.

Suddenly the time of quarrelling began, birds were fighting and stealing food from other birds beaks. The blood from their wounds ruined their colourful plumage. The bright sky disappeared and grey clouds spread across the sky. Ka suddenly appeared, "you have damaged the forest and you have destroyed the trees" shouted Ka . 

He was so furious he punished them and gave them different jobs, features and perches. All of the birds had to climb the front of Ka's tree but Krikta the kea was curious so he climbed up the back and he stole a beak, claws and a beautiful birdsong. 

The sun began to set, so Ka raised up in the sky and noticed Krikta the kea singing a beautiful birdsong. As quick as a flash Ka knew Krikta the kea stole the birdsong, beak and claws. So Ka took away their birdsong and now they can only screech. But they got to keep the sharp claws and beak. The keas were banished to the snowy mountains for ever more.

Many years ago in the Chatham Island lived the rarest bird in the world. It is as small and round as an orange. Black Robins have sharp claws and scaly legs. They have furious looking black eyes, a blackish, greyish beak and their feathers are black. They have a short tail and a tiny fluffy body. They feed on grubs and wetas. They are endemic, which means they have always lived here. They also live for 5 years, Black Robins are about 16 to 18 cm, they hop and fly. Once there were only five black robins left in the world, also they are still endangered, so we need to protect them.

Skeledrid the Sea Dragon God

One unusual day I had a strange  feeling that I had to be somewhere. But as quick as a flash I remembered that I had to go to the Nectar Ceremony. In my village when you turn eleven it is a special day because you will drink the nectar and you may summon a spirit animal. My Nectar Ceremony was in China. When I arrived at the Ceremony the audience were as quiet as ants, everyone glanced at me like I was different. There infront of me was Queen Elizabeth and in her palm was a jar with nectar in it. I took a sip it and it tasted like bitter soup with walnut. I had a burning feeling in my chest. There were dark clouds and all of a sudden I summoned a Skeledrid! It was fierce, with it's burning water it was a dragon of the past - a hero of the water dragons. I was so scared that I had goose bumps, then I noticed that his scales were as silver as armour. His wings were torn like old rags, his eye had a scar. Everyone went silent as the dragon had returned -  Skeledrid the water god of the past! There standing next to it was a green cloak, he raised my arm and said "Oh gosh oh gosh let Shirley bring the hero of the past back, here behold Skele.....

Just then the warning bell went ding dong ding dong. The war had spread from Huang He and we were under attack. Everyone summoned a spirit animal but the enemy were too strong . So I had to leave my country on my dragon. When my journey finished in Vietnam I felt so lonely and my spirit animal was too. I knew because I could talk to him in my mind. Then I noticed a school that said - a school to help you and your spirit animal get stronger, and I knew that I had to join in to help save my country. When I stepped into the school everyone noticed Skeledrid the god of the sea. The teachers were surprised that someone had summoned the god and they were more surprised that I needed help to train him.

So my adventure was starting. Three years later Skeledrid was as big as a 200 story building and I decided to go back to Beijing in China. When I arrived in Beijing everything was destroyed into dust.
