Describing the Black Robin

Black robins are really black. They have black feathers and black legs. The black robin is nearly as small as a sparrow and they can fly. These black robins are popular because a long, long time ago there were lots of black robins. But then there were only five left. A scientist named Don Merton came and helped the black robins. He was a very good man. These black robins are really hoppy like a kangaroo. The black robins lay eggs. They eat grubs and wetas which are insects. The black robins are uncommon. Black robins are endemic birds which means they we're living here before people. There are now lots of black robins on Chatham Island. But we still need to protect them.
